Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is turn around time?
Turn around is the time that it takes me to finish the quilt once I receive it.   So if you give me the quilt on a Monday you should have it back the following Monday.  My turn around time is currently 1 week.  That can change and I will keep it updated on my website.
  2. How do I figure what the approximate cost will be?
Times the length and the width of your quilt. Then times is by the cost. For example if your quilt was 100 x 100 your psi would be 10,000. If you picked a design that was .015 psi you would then times the 10,000 by .015. Total would be $150.00. Please remember that I do need to add taxes. Also there is a batting charge if you are purchasing the batting through me.
  3. What is an edge to edge design?
An edge to edge is a design that goes from one edge of your quilt to the next. It will usually need to be nested. A border to border design is similar except that it is usually square in design.
  4. What is considered custom?
Custom quilting is whenever there is more than one design or a design done in just each block. Prices can vary according to how many designs you pick and how dense the quilting is.
  5. How do I prepare my backing?
It is important that you make your back at least 4 inches longer and wider than your top. This allows for the pinning of your backing onto the frame. It is also important that you have the backing iron with no big wrinkles and creases. If there are creases in your backing they maybe quilted into your backing.
